Job overview

The Blood Science Department is looking for an Administration Assistant to undertake duties for Senior Personnel within Biochemistry and Haematology, and to provide support for the Microbiology service.

The post is Part time working 32 hours a week. Working days and hours are flexible within reason and can be discussed at or prior to interview.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake a range of administrative duties (e.g. report writing and data gathering, meeting minute taking, incoming postal organisation and diary management for key senior staff within biochemistry and haematology and to ensure the provision of efficient and effective laboratory services.
  • You will possess excellent communication skills and must be able to work on your own initiative. 
  • You will be able to organise and prioritise workload and balance this with the demands of this diverse and varied role.
  • You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, RSA II or equivalent typing, and have a strong commitment to personal and professional development.
