Job overview

Salford Royal Hospital Pharmacy Department receives, stores and supplies medications for patients within the hospital. External customers are also supplied through the Wholesale Distribution Authorisation.

The process for supplying medications is currently being restructured across the Northern Care Alliance.

As a Senior Assistant Technical Officer working in the Pharmacy stores at Salford Royal Hospital you will follow Good Distribution Practice to ensure the safe provision of pharmaceutical products to both patients and customers across the group.

Although desirable, previous employment in a pharmacy environment is not needed.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the receipt and storage of medications and bulk fluids into the pharmacy store
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of bulk fluids
  • Pick medications for internal and external customers
  • Check and packing of customer orders
  • Manage stock deliveries and collections to/from the department by internal and external transport providers.
  • Contribute to early, late and weekend shift patterns
