Radiology MR Clinical Support Worker

Job overview

We are seeking  enthusiastic and motivated Radiology Clinical Support Workers with excellent organisational skills to work alongside and assist radiographers, radiologists and radiology nurses in the MR (Magnetic resonance) department within Radiology at Salford Royal Hospital

We are a busy MR department carrying out all types of MR scans over multiple scanner locations across the site. Duties will include providing appropriate patient preparation for MR examinations, booking and attending patients on the Radiology information system  and work alongside radiographers to maintain the running of the department.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills to enable you to be involved with a variety of tasks in order to assist with the smooth-running of the department and ensure we provide a excellent patient experience. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is recommended and basic IT skills are desired.

Main duties of the job

Patient preparation and support are the main duties of this job, but you will also be taught to cannulate and order stock, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the department using the Radiology Information System.

You will need to be committed to providing a high quality service and understand fully the Trust Objectives when dealing with the public and staff at all times. In return we offer excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.

There will be long days and weekend shifts as part of the rotation. Applicants wishing to partake in set weekend shifts can express this at interview.

Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025, increased the minimum salary threshold for certificates of sponsorship applications for Health and Care Worker Visa from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold, and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education, NVQ, GCSE (5 or more at 5 or C or above) or equivalent experience
