Job overview

Salford Equipment Service is a busy service serving Salford residents by providing equipment and minor adaptations to assist people to live independently in their own home.

Equipment Maintenance Technicians are part of a large service comprising Store Managers, Supervisors, Equipment and Wheelchair Support Workers and Decontamination Coordinators

Together we provide over 25000 pieces of equipment per year to support people to live independently in their own home. This equipment is for people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities

Equipment Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installing telecare and sensory equipment and the installation of gantry hoists into peoples home addresses

Technicians also carry out minor repairs to wheelchairs

 

Main duties of the job

  • installation of sensory equipment 
  • installation  of telecare equipment such as bed sensors
  • minor repairs to basic wheelchairs
  • installation of gantry hoists
