Job overview

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our children's therapy services. Our services include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, equipment and adaptations and dietitians. We provide services from the child development unit at Stepping Hill Hospital, out therapy centre at 1WR Stockport, and across family hubs and early years  settings / schools.

The job will mainly be based at 1 WR ( 1 Wellington Rd Stockport) though the post holder may have to work at the other sites on occasion which may include Kennedy Way off Green lane,  Stepping Hill or the family hub sites. There are currently 4 other admin staff including one admin lead working in our admin hub.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to support the therapy teams as part of the admin hub. This includes:

Answering phone calls

Supporting room access and set up of the therapy centre

Adding referrals and admin notes and consultations to the patient system EMIS.

Placing orders on the unit 4 order system / NHS supply chain.

Creating Eventbrite events for training courses.

Scanning information to EMIS

sending out appointments / creating appointments on the system

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 

  • To assist and support the management of the Children’s therapy teams ensuring an effective and efficient administration service is provided to the clinicians / team leads.
  • To work on own initiative to prioritise own work in the various community settings required in the face of competing demands.
  • To provide cross-cover management support in the event of colleagues leave / absence.
  • To provide personal assistance to the Children’s Therapy manager on delegated tasks involving data management, training nominations/compliance, quality issues and day to day duties such as data inputting and management, filing/copying maintaining confidentiality.
  • To support the team to create a positive working environment promoting good well being
  • To be a proactive team member of the Children’s Therapy Services to provide an effective and responsive service.
  • To contribute to the administrative function of the children’s services to promote efficiency and to reflect changes in therapy services / systems.
  • To support the children’s therapy managers in tasks required for the children’s therapy services.
  • To work with limited supervision
  • To be accountable for own actions
  • To be guided by service processes as developed by service leads

 If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
