Job overview
The post holder will raise the profile of nursing, providing leadership and consultancy to Cardiology Nurse Specialist, Cardiology Lead Nurses and Cardiology Nurses, As senior nursing leader of Stockport NHSFT they will work strategically with other senior leaders including the Cardiology Triumvirate to deliver high quality, safe and reliable cardiology.
The post holder will support the Triumvirate and MDT’s to deliver the national, regional and local cardiology nursing agenda. They will manage the specialist nursing team and lead nurses to support the delivery of specialists cardiology care in line with national, regional and local guidelines, underpinned by a strong clinical governance structure. Supporting senior nursing teams to ensure the effective delivery of the national and regional cardiology strategy and associated peer reviews to demonstrate improvements to the provision of care to patients and their families throughout their care pathway
They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and relevant departments/organisations internal and external to the Trust to ensure the delivery of responsive individualised patient care, through delivery of best practice and professional practice development, in response to the transforming nursing agenda.
Main duties of the job
Provide effective clinical and professional leadership which demonstrates the values and behaviours identified within the trust values.
Expected to work approximately 5 percent of working hours in clinical practice.
Provide Line management to Cardiology Specialist Nurses
Provide strategic direction and leadership in relation to the development of the cardiology services.
Provide an environment which is conducive with learning , education, training, research and development, fostering innovative practice and proactively implementing professional practice innovations to address knowledge and skill gaps.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Lead service developments acting as a resource for other health care professionals and encouraging collaborative working to improve service delivery and provisions.
Ensure that patient care and service developments are evidenced based, undertaking local research projects as necessary.
Ensure there is an appropriate governance structure in place and that the team meet training and competence requirements for the post.
If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
