Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Health Care Assistant who will join us on our 34 bedded General Surgical Ward – Ward D5.   The successful applicant will be expected to work to our high standards of patient care and service delivery.  We provide a comprehensive training package in a supporting and welcoming environment.

Our multidisciplinary team, deliver care for patients who are undergoing surgical procedures and medical intervention and specialise in stoma care.

Main duties of the job

Includes usual band 3 tasks of taking patients blood pressures, performing ECG's, venepuncture, attending to patients basic hygiene and dressing needs, assist with helping to feed patients (if required), attend to patients toileting needs, whilst maintaining dignity and respect, completing bedside charts in a timely manner and keeping  patient track (the electronic patient records) up to date. You will need to work to the Trusts standards and expectations, adhering to the Purpose T, falls, fluid & Hydration and MUST policies amongst others.
