A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen, for a keen and motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist, to join our friendly, well-established multi professional team, here at the Early Intervention Team, Salford. 

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic OT, who is keen to deliver high quality, safe services and best practice in Early Intervention Mental Health. We would welcome applicants with leadership aptitude, innovative and creative ideas, which would support the ongoing development of the service. A specialist interest and experience in mental health is sought. 

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will have access to a breadth of continued professional development through, annual appraisal, ongoing professional support, professional meetings, regular training and routine clinical and professional supervision. Professional supervision is provided by the AHP Professional Lead for Salford; whilst local support and supervision are provided within the team. We have a strong OT structure within the Salford Division, and across GMMH. This is further enhanced by OT clinical networks, which you can attend and network with your peers in other geographical areas.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1.    Provide clinical and professional leadership, supervision, support and consultation to designated occupational therapy staff and MDT staff in the EI team & wider community services, and in line with relevant clinical pathways.
2.    To provide line management supervision for identified staff within EI.
3.    To support the AHP Lead, in the operational and strategic development of the occupational therapy service.
4.    Undertake liaison and effective working relationships with primary care services, including GP practices and consortia, local community facilities – statutory & non-statutory agencies.
5.    To abide by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice, and the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards for registration, and ensure compliance of others.
6.    To maintain own clinical and professional competence though designated ring fenced OT client caseload, using an evidence based model to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions. 
7.    To participate in the duty rota for EI. 
8.    To participate in the service bronze on call rota.
9.    Deputise for the Team Manager and AHP Professional Lead in his/her absence and take on any delegated duties as required.
10.    To develop the clinical pathways within the team.
