Job overview
TWA, Trafford, Withington and Altrincham hospitals is a division of Manchester Foundation Trust and the Facilities staff employed provide an integral service to the smooth running of the Division. We are now looking for staff to be based at Withington Community Hospital to deliver excellent support services to the Trust.
As a Facilities Assistant - Domestic you will deliver a full and comprehensive cleaning service to the departments in Withington Community Hospital. You may also be required to support at our Intermediate Care Units Buccleuch Lodge, Monet Lodge Intermediate Care Unit, and Dermot Murphy.
We have a Monday - Friday 16:30-20:00 or 17:00 - 20:00 post available and a 20 hour per week flexible shifts (with advance notice) Monday - Sunday between 06:00-20:00 available. As we are a healthcare organisation that is open 7 days per week, the successful candidates may be asked to work on bank holidays, including Christmas.
Please note that these are domestic and catering roles and not a nursing assistant role.
Main duties of the job
Provision of cleaning and catering services within a Hospital/Healthcare environment whilst working closely with Ward/Department staff to ensure a high-quality service provision.
To work closely and support other facilities services such as linen and portering to ensure the seamless delivery of facilities services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good written and spoken English and ability to do basic maths.
Desirable criteria
- GCSE Maths and English
- Cleaning training qualifications
- Customer care training qualifications
- Basic food hygiene level 2 certificate
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- To understand and be able to carry out instructions to set specifications .
- Understanding and awareness of confidentiality.

- Good knowledge of food safety.
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of Health & Safety.

- Experience of working within a healthcare environment.
