Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 3 Medical Support Secretary (37.5 hours, Mon-Fri, full-time ) to work in the Perinatal CMHT. We are seeking a conscientious administrator with a can-do attitude who enjoys working in a large team and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high quality administration support in an efficient and timely manner.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and have a broad range of administration experience, being able to work with intuitive and sometimes under pressure.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and have a broad range of administration and secretarial experience, being able to work with initiative and sometimes under pressure. The post-holder will work as part of a dynamic team supporting medical secretaries, consultants, clinicians and team managers in the smooth running of the Admin Services. The successful applicant will work directly with the consultant, providing secretarial duties and co-ordinate and facilitate the dissemination of information to and from the team and be required to deal efficiently, precisely and courteously with telephone calls from service users as well as health professionals.
You will be a well organised and experienced secretary with knowledge of medical terminology. You will ensure all consultants and clinicians within your role are organised and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. Duties will include audio typing clinical letters and typing of medical and other correspondence, actioning any requirements identified in minutes/typing, uploading scanning including prescriptions and assisting the consultants with their diary management if required.

- Good standard of education to GCSE standard (5 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English)
- Typing qualification/ or equivalent experience
