Radiographer - Plain Film & Lithotripsy

Band 6

Job overview

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - Wythenshawe site, is looking to appoint a Band 6 Radiographer to undertake lithotripsy procedures and act as a key trainer/support to our band 5 radiographer team.

The successful candidates will be required to integrate into our new 7-day working rota, implemented in September 2023.  This involves working a variety of shift patterns, including night, long days and more regular daytime working.

This is an exciting time to be joining us, with a managed equipment service having been implemented in 2021, which has already seen a proportion of Plain Film equipment updated, with further replacements planned for 2024, including at least 2 new DR X-rays rooms and a new Lithotriptor machine involving full renovation of the Lithotripsy Service Unit.

The successful candidates will have significant plain film experience, ideally working with DR equipment and the ability to teach, train and support more junior staff in its use, such that the optimum benefit is gained from this investment.

Alongside this role the appointees will receive full training to enable them to undertake lithotripsy procedures in our small but busy lithotripsy service. The successful candidates can expect regular rotation into Lithotripsy alongside a wider Plain Film rotation.
