Job overview
To support the Interim WTWA Associate Group Director Estates in shaping the future provision of Estates Services across WTWA and associated properties. This will include the strategic development of services to ensure they are high quality, progressive, responsive to internal and external demand, patient focused and fully support the strategic and future operational needs of the service delivery contracts.
Main duties of the job
To be accountable for all day-to-day operational aspects of Estates Services Hard FM delivered across WTWA and associated properties, its partnership organisations and internal customers. This will include the support and development of services to ensure they are progressive, responsive to internal and external demand, are patient focused, safe, efficient, and effective. The post-holder is required to work within a robust governance structure and performance against agreed service standards and key performance indicators.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional/academic qualification at degree level or equivalent experience in a Technical or EFM discipline
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development in EFM disciplines
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Management
- PG Diploma/Master’s Degree and/or evidence of equivalent relevant management experience within the NHS
- Chartered Engineer
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience in a senior manager position, in the Estates management sector
- Evidence of successful projects/programmes of work within agreed constraints e.g. budgets, timescales
- Successful track record in securing year on year improvements in quality and value
- Recent experience of successful negotiation and contract management
- Recent experience of procurement through tendering
- Ability to work effectively and inclusively with a wide range of people
Desirable criteria
- Successful track record in leading and delivering organisational change
- Evidence of Commitment to Continuing Professional Development
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Sound understanding of financial management and processes, with in depth knowledge of contract management
- Full understanding of the PLACE process
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of how the Estates and Hard Facilities function operates in an NHS setting
- Understanding of healthcare provision together with awareness and appreciation of current NHS policy and priorities
