The Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences is one of the largest in the UK and provides world class innovative patient care across 11 hospital sites in Greater Manchester.

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within MCCN working for some of the most inspirational consultants in the NHS based at Wythenshawe Hospital

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals with relevant experience to join our high performing and successful team providing Neurology services to Greater Manchester patients.

The post will provide you with an exciting challenge and give you the opportunity to play a key-supporting role in a rapidly growing service which currently serves a population of 3.2 million.

We are seeking a full time secretary (please enquire if would like to discuss working hours options further).  This post is based at Wythenshawe Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative.

You will be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and balance this with the demands of a busy, diverse and varied role.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, RSA II or equivalent typing, excellent audio typing skills, waiting list management, medical terminology, proven organisational skills, 18 week (RTT) standards and a strong commitment to personal and professional development is desired.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • RTT 18 week compliance
  • User of Medisec, Patient Centre and G2
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the Trust’s current Information Technology systems (e.g. Medisec, iSOFT, PAS).

Qualifications
