Job overview

Would you like to join an energetic, committed and friendly team to help early detection and prevention of bowel cancer?

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Lead Specialist Screening Practitioner to join our dynamic Bowel Cancer Screening team based at Aintree Hospital.

The programme has undergone significant change, building for the future and currently working towards the final stages of Age Extension, lowering the starting age of bowel cancer screening to 50yrs.

We pride ourselves on providing  an exceptional service and excellent patient experience, and as we move towards our ambitious strategy, we require a motivated professional individual with excellent leadership skills to join us in this role.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Lead SSP and Programme Manager to support, lead and train the team of Specialist Screening Practitioners through this period of change.  You will have excellent clinical assessment skills to apply, alongside evidence-based decision making to support patients, their carers and relatives taking part in the programme.
Experience of leading a team, undertaking nurse led clinics; and working within Bowel Cancer Screening is essential.

Aintree University Hospital is the single receiving site for adult major trauma patients in Cheshire and Merseyside and hosts a number of regional services including an award-winning stroke facility. Broadgreen Hospital is home to elective surgical, diagnostic and treatment services, together with specialist patient rehabilitation. Liverpool Women’s Hospital specialises in the health of women and babies, delivering over 7,200 babies in the UK’s largest single site maternity hospital each year. The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single bedrooms and focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.
