• The role requires the provision of high intensity (step 3 of the stepped care model approach) evidence based psychological interventions for staff of WUTH, providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, within one or more psychological therapy models specified by the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression Manual.
• A key component of this role requires the post holder to develop and promote pro-active/preventative wellbeing packages of care, focused on the prevention of emotional distress, not just treating it. This will involve a range of strategies such as wellbeing workshops, supporting departments which require specific support & intervention, and the development of emotional resilience across the Trust.
• The post holder works autonomously with professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. They will receive CBT Clinical Supervision from an experienced therapist, in line with BABCP minimum standards. If the post holder is not accredited through BABCP, this will be encouraged and supported by their Clinical Supervisor.
• This post will support the lead Psychotherapist in providing an environment where every staff member has the access to evidenced based therapies, alongside pro-active wellbeing support.
• To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

- NHS Talking Therapies High Intensity CBT Postgraduate Diploma, or a recognised Postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
- Experience at working with one or more NHS Talking Therapies-recognised psychological therapies at a specialist level.
- Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) achieved through training and experience with adults with anxiety and depression.
- A recognised post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (or postgraduate level training conferring equivalent competences).
- A minimum two-year post-graduate (or equivalent) qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Psychotherapy, Counselling, or Counselling Psychology, comprising no less than 450 hours programme contact AND no less than 450 hours supervised counselling or psychotherapy practice (including hours gained after core training).
- Additional pre and/or post qualification training in Mental Health.
- Recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP, e.g. mental health nursing, practitioner psychology, medicine, social work, occupational therapy or counselling AND
- Current registration/accreditation with the core professional body, OR evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation.

- Experience at working with one or more NHS Talking Therapies-recognised psychological therapies at a specialist level.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of adapting specific NHS Talking Therapies recognised psychological therapies for anxiety and/or depression in the context of co morbidity and complexity (e.g. occupational distress, occupational burnout, compassion fatigue, personality disorder, additional disabilities etc).
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.

- Experience of working with a variety of client groups and presenting problems that reflect a range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
