Consultant Cardiologist
YC72
Job overview
University Hospitals of Liverpool Group is seeking to appoint a Consultant Cardiologist (full-time, 10 PA) with a defined subspecialty interest in one of the following areas: Heart Failure and Cardiac Devices (including pacing); Echocardiography and non-invasive ultrasound imaging (including stress echocardiography); or cardiovascular cross-sectional imaging (Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI). Applicants should clearly indicate their subspecialty interest in their application.
The appointee will contribute to the relevant subspecialty service and its associated multidisciplinary team (for example, the Heart Failure MDT, the Valve / Infective Endocarditis MDT, or the Imaging MDT, as appropriate to their interest).
The successful applicant will play a key role in expanding Cardiology services across the Group and will join a team of 10 Consultant Cardiologists at Aintree University Hospital, delivering comprehensive cardiac care to patients across the Group.
Main duties of the job
The appointee, together with their colleagues at the Aintree site, will have a commitment to the provision of cardiology services. The appointee is responsible for the continued development and expansion of their subspecialty interest and will be expected to work closely with the rest of the Consultants.
The successful candidate will undertake two sessions dedicated to their subspecialty interest. Depending on the area of interest, this may include contributing to or leading the Heart Failure and Devices service, the Echocardiography / Valve service, or the Cardiac CT / MRI service, and sharing the relevant multidisciplinary team meeting (for example the Heart Failure MDT, the Infective Endocarditis / Valve MDT, or the Imaging MDT).
In addition, other duties will include administration, attendance at meetings and continuing professional development. It is expected that the appointee will participate in the on-call rota for Cardiology.
The job plan is annualised and is based on a 10 PA job plan with 2 supporting PAs.
