Job overview
Join our busy, dynamic CSI team at LUHFT on the Aintree site. We offer a unique opportunity for highly motivated Radiographers who wish to move into the world of or further develop their skills in CT and MR . We cover many specialist imaging services and provide the regional stroke and trauma service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated radiographer who has excellent communication skills and is committed to providing high quality patient care. We operate a 7 day /12 hour extended day out patient service and an emergency out of hours night shift. Flexibility is essential to work a range of shifts we offer, you will also need to be able to multi-task in often demanding circumstances.
Main duties of the job
Perform specialist clinical duties by undertaking complex specialised radiological examinations in CT and MR and all aspects of patient care
Maintain correct patient records and statutory radiation records to reflect the examination performed.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Undertake the role of trauma lead in CT carrying the trauma bleep and responding to trauma calls in a timely fashion co-ordinating any other work to ensure efficient & safe workflow. Maintain effective communication with the trauma team and other colleagues.
- Be responsible for own professional development. Reflect on clinical practice and skills.
- To maintain a clean, tidy and appropriately equipped rooms/areas ready for immediate use.
- To set and promote high standards of patient care, monitor, initiate and implement changes where necessary to improve care.
- Respect the individual needs and requirements of patients.
- Undertake any duties assigned by the management team commensurate with the post.
- Annually renew registration with Health Professional Council.
- monitor and report equipment faults as per departmental procedure
- Out of hours to record & report sickness/absence to Operational Manager as per departmental procedure.
- Exhibit high standards of professional behaviour at all times.
- Hold a BSc Honours in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers.
- To take responsibility for own mandatory training.
- To ensure knowledge is kept up to date in line with developments and technology
- To actively seek training and educational opportunities.
- Maintain an individual CPD portfolio
- To be involved in the training of student radiographers as required.
