Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Radiology Administration Team. The post is for a Band 4, 37.5 hrs per week, working 5 days per week, Monday- Friday.
Are you an enthusiastic individual who likes to work in a specialised environment with an unpredictable workload?
This post involves all aspects of the patient pathway within Radiology and will be responsible for ensuring that the patient is tracked through the pathway effectively. The post holder will be responsible for administration/booking processes within the team and ensuring all processes adhere to national guidance.
In addition, the Pathway Coordinator will be responsible for supervision of a group of administration staff within Radiology.

Main duties of the job
The post involves managing every aspect as the patient pathway in Radiology as stated above and ensuring all patients are tracked and booked effectively. The post involves managing a small group of staff and directing the team's workload.
Other duties such as secretarial support to the Radiologists, Radiographers and Management team is also required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Summary
The Radiology Pathway Coordinator will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support the Radiology Department. The post-holder will coordinate, proactively manage, and track patients throughout their radiology journey. The role will also consist of secretarial support to the Radiology department including Radiologists, Radiographers and Senior Operational Management.
The successful candidate will be actively encouraged to assist with service development and proactively highlight any shortcomings and/or potential problems. LHCH embraces innovative working and efficient solutions will be embraced.
Principal Accountabilities
The post-holder will coordinate all aspects of the patient pathway within Radiology and will be responsible for ensuring that the patient is tracked through the pathway effectively. In addition, the Pathway Coordinator will be responsible for supervision of a group of administration staff within Radiology.
General Duties
To manage all diagnostic Waiting List/Patient Tracking lists and booking diaries to ensure appointments/admissions do not breach waiting time targets in all specialties, liaising with the Service Line manager to ensure compliance with national targets.
Ensure all scanners are fully utilised and lead on tracking for patient cancellations/DNAs.
Ensure all appointments are booked in line with the requirements outlined in the Directorate and Trust policies.
To be fully competent in all CRIS system administration processes and be a ‘CRIS Super User’ for the department.
Be the initial author for administration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the department.
Monitor and validate the weekly PTL data to ensure that all patients are booked in order of clinical need and then strict RTT date order. Re-schedule appointments to ensure targets are met.
Manage referrals for 2ww cancer patients to ensure all patients are treated within the targets, liaising with Clinicians, GPs and the cancer Coordinators when required. Ensure SOP is followed.
Identify any issues, i.e. where a shortage of capacity could lead to potential breaches and flag to Radiology Service Line Manger or Senior Operational Manager as required.
Carry out audits to test the effectiveness of departmental procedures as required.
Oversee staff workloads to ensure a fair and even distribution of duties.
Undertake Office Staff PDRs and ensure all admin staff are up to date with mandatory training.
Provide administrative support to the department; arrange and coordinate key departmental meetings including taking detailed and accurate meeting minutes.
Update the departments Health Roster and log sickness on the roster and the departmental database. Ensure all employees have the relevant sickness documentation.
