Job overview

The Podietry team have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Podietry Service Manager for 30 hours a week.  The role is integral to the podiatry service and the postholder is required to work at an advanced clinical level managing patients with highly complex diabetic foot wounds. 

The Service Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the management of the podiatry service at AUH, including performance management. They will have a wide strategic view of podiatry provision across the local health economy, with specific remit for the strategic development of podiatry services withing AUH.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc hons Podiatry or Diploma in podiatric medicine
  • Registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) - Podiatry
  • Post-Graduation qualification in field of Diabetes – Master’s level or equivalent
  • Certification in Local Anaesthesia

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Demonstrate experience of service and policy development along with audit
  • Budget Management
  • Experience of People Management and Development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable clinical post registration experience assessment and treating patients with Diabetes
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the area of footwear and appliances in the writing of prescriptions and also in the evaluation of appliances/footwear.
  • High level of knowledge in the areas of wound care.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of requesting and interpreting appropriate investigations for a specialised area of work
  • Non Medical Prescribe
