Job overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our well-established Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) team as a Clerical Officer.
This is a pivotal role within the service, providing essential administration support to the Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP) and the wider team. The post offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills through the accurate management of patient sensitive data, handling incoming calls from patients, and contributing to the smooth running of the service.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to details, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Previous administrative or healthcare setting would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Accountable for providing an administrative service to the BCSP Management Team to support the effective delivery of the FOBt Programme and Bowel scope programme.
Act as first point of contact with Regional Hub (Rugby) with the recording of results and arrangement of nurse-led community clinic appointments.
Arrange colonoscopy appointments at the identified screening centres.
Arrange and book Bowel scope lists across Trusts as per service guides and standards.
Ensure smooth referral pathways are adhered to for patients referred to and from local Trusts.
Maintain service waiting lists and local databases as part of the team.
Participate in educational/awareness sessions as identified by the services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Assist the BCSP Manager in the development of robust information systems that will support the current and future needs of the Programme.
Responsible for the production of regular and ad hoc reports for both internal and external recipients.
Manage endoscopic procedures as required by the services.
Collate and analyse data from various sources to meet the required reporting standards.
Participate in the development of new systems to meet changing information requirements.
.Ensure the security, maintenance and cleanliness of office accommodation and equipment.
Carry out other duties as appropriate to the post.

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent experience Ability and willingness to undergo further training as necessary
Experience

- Demonstrable experience in an administration role.
- Extensive Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet and Email
- Typing skills
