Based at Broadgreen Hospital, the successful candidate will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients within the Limb Reconstruction Unit, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. Working within a nationally recognised service, you will support patients with complex orthopaedic conditions, including limb salvage, bone infection, deformity correction and complex trauma. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist with substantial post-registration experience, including Orthopaedic Trauma. Candidates should demonstrate strong assessment, rehabilitation and clinical reasoning skills, alongside experience of splinting, equipment provision, discharge planning and multidisciplinary working.

The post holder will provide highly specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and rehabilitation throughout the patient pathway, supporting patients with complex physical and functional needs. Responsibilities include advanced assessment, treatment planning, splinting, equipment provision, risk management, rehabilitation and discharge planning to maximise independence and outcomes.
Working within a specialist multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload. They will support patients through often lengthy and challenging treatment journeys.
The role includes supervision, support and development of Band 6 Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and students, helping to maintain high standards of practice across the service.
Working closely with physiotherapists, nurses, medical colleagues and external agencies, the post holder will contribute to service development, quality improvement, governance, audit and research activities to support continuous service improvement.
The current working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.
