Advanced Clinical Pharmacist - Rheumatology
Band 8a
Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Team based at Aintree Hospital. The post‑holder will play a key role in the management of patients with a range of rheumatological conditions, including active involvement in prescribing medicines for this patient group. The role will also support the supervision and development of pharmacists and technicians within the rheumatology service, ensuring the provision of a high‑quality, safe and effective clinical pharmacy service.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and forward‑thinking clinical pharmacist, ideally with demonstrable experience in rheumatology or immuno-modulating agents, who will act as an integral member of the rheumatology multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will undertake specialist clinics, contribute to and attend MDT meetings, and work closely with consultants, specialist nurses and surgeons to optimise medicines use and support complex clinical decision‑making.
The postholder will be supported by the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Rheumatology, and would be an experienced pharmacist with ability to provide clinical leadership and take responsibility for the delivery of a proactive, patient‑centred specialist pharmacy service across rheumatology. The role also offers opportunities to work collaboratively with teams across the organisation, contributing to service development and cross‑site working.
