Senior Physiotherapist - Complex Rehab Unit
Band 6

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Band 6 physiotherapist based on the Phoenix Unit, Broadgreen Hospital. The Pheonix Unit is a level 2 rehabilitation unit within the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network (CMRN) providing individually tailored rehabilitation programmes to suit the needs of a diverse group of patients following significant trauma or life changing diagnoses.
The successful candidate will be part of a motivated, forward thinking multidisciplinary team. It is essential to have demonstrable knowledge and experience across a breadth of clinical areas including orthopaedics, neurology, vascular and respiratory as well as an enthusiasm to further develop their skills.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, time-management and interpersonal skills. They should be motivated to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team. We provide regular supervision and training opportunities. A commitment to continued professional development and the development of others is essential.
As part of the CMRN, therapists have opportunity to be involved in service development at both a local and regional level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating tailored evidence based treatment plans with appropriate goal setting for a range of complex presentations. Collaborative working and understanding of the roles of the wider MDT is essential.
Clinical Governance, research and quality improvement activities are encouraged within the service.
Therapists are required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, supporting a 7 day service; working extended days.

- To undertake physiotherapy assessment, clinically diagnose and implement agreed treatment plans, evaluate care delivery according to health care needs a range of complex patients.
- To demonstrate a strong awareness of evidence based practice enabling the implementation of goal setting to support a variety of conditions.
- To advise, assist and educate other staff and students with the management of patient caseloads.
- To ensure effective communication with patients, carers and all other Health & Social Care Professionals regarding all aspects of patient care. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating.
- To demonstrate a strong understanding of a 24 ethos to rehabilitation.
- Represent Physiotherapy Service at Multidisciplinary Meetings to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated Multidisciplinary Service.
- To be involved in a integrated care approach to complex rehabilitation including joint working with other health care professionals in supporting patient reach their rehabilitation goals.

- HCPC registration
Experience

- Significant post-registration experience in a junior rotational post providing a broad range of clinical experience to include musculoskeletal / medical / respiratory conditions
- Majority of clinical experience in the NHS UK
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of a contribution to clinical education / supervision of less experienced staff, students or assistants
Knowledge
