Employer heading
Consultant Respiratory Physician (with specialist interest in ILD)
YC72
Job overview
This is a replacement post to provide Consultant cover in Respiratory Medicine to complement the existing teams. The post will be based primarily at The Royal Liverpool hospital site with weekly requirements to be on site to provide clinics and MDT attendance at AUH when not covering ward weeks. Ward weeks are on offer for between 7 and 14 weeks per year with the remaining 35 or 28 delivering outpatient care with built in SPA and admin time during those weeks.
This post has been designed to deliver care to patients with ILD in the South of the city. The aim is to develop the service into a tier 2 site and will include delivering on clinics and tertiary MDT input at the Aintree site as part of the ILD service there.
The post has been designed to provide standardised care across the city and as part of the newly formed UHLG model of equitable and equal access through standardised pathways protocols and standard operating procedures, working collaboratively across the teams.
It is expected that the post holder will be willing to be flexible in terms of their working hours within the agreed contract. This will include working unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays. Even though unsociable hours may be rostered in the job plan, the work will not include duties that are inappropriate for a consultant; furthermore, the rota will not contravene the hour limits of the European Working Time Directive. On call will be non-resident.
