Job overview
Patient Access Centre at Liverpool Women's Hospital are looking to recruit a full time receptionist to work Mon to Friday between the hours of 8am & 6pm
The post holder will be required to greet patients on arrival to the department therefore an exceptionally high level of customer service skills are required for this post. The Patient Access department ensure reception cover is provided across Main Out-Patients at the Women's and our satellite clinic on the Aintree Hospital site, the Fetal Centre, colposcopy & Antenatal.
The successful candidate will be required to work across all of the above areas on a rotational basis, which covers both Liverpool Women's Hospital and Aintree Centre for Women's Health sites.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and IT skills as multiple systems will be used in the role to book patients in and out of clinic attendances, arranging follow up appointments and discharging patients as instructed by the clinician.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Check patients into and out of clinics ensuring accurate data capture and entry of patient personal information and clinical information in relation to clinic appointments.
Handle enquiries from patients and staff in relation to appointment booking and scheduling within the reception areas.
Use a variety of IT systems including Meditech, Masey, Intouch and CRIS to book patients in and out of clinic attendances.
Ensure a timely cash up of the appointments, ie Schedule follow up appointments / discharge patients in the PAS system (Meditech) as instructed by the clinician.
Be presentable and of smart appearance and adhere to Liverpool Women's Hospital Uniform policy.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an office, a reception or an administrative environment, preferably within a healthcare environment
- Previous experience of data entry/input
- Basic keyboard and PC skills
- High standards of accuracy
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of a hospital based Patient Administration System
- Experience of working in a NHS reception or appointment booking environment
- Knowledge of NHS waiting time requirements and procedures
Qualifications & Learnig
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including English and Mathematics
Desirable criteria
- Additional Customer Service or Administraive qualification such as an NVQ qualification such as an NVQ Qualification
Personal Qualites
Essential criteria
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Ability to work to a deadline, priorities own work load and work under pressure
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Able to implement new ideas to benefit patients, staff and working environment
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
