Lead Nurse, Networked Services Division
22.5 Hours per week - working a 3 day week 8-4, set days include Wednesday and Friday with an additional day of choice
Are you an experienced cancer nurse looking for your next career move or already working in a similar capacity and looking for a new challenge?
The role of the Matron Lead Nurse is fundamental to ensuring patients receive safe, high quality care, and a positive patient experience which is responsive to the needs of our patients, families and their carers.Therefore we are seeking a senior nurse who has strong leadership skills to play a key role in being responsible for and further developing our services across the Networked Services Division with a permanent base location based at Liverpool.
Working closely with the Matron, the General Manager and the Divisional Nurse Director for Networked services, the post holder will be an individual who is a self-starter and able to support, engage, inspire and develop their teams to enable them to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and demonstration of competent, accountable clinical practice.
- Ensure that the environment meets appropriate standards for health care delivery, and delivers best practice in infection control.
- Provide day-to-day visible, accessible and authoritative leadership in clinical areas.
- Ensure the delivery of patient care is of the highest standard and those patients and their families are treated with dignity and respect.
- Actively support the Division in the provision of high quality, modern, dynamic and patient centred services.
- Provide support to patients and their relatives/carers.
- Be responsible for optimising patient flow and access through their areas of responsibility through strategies to prevent delays and optimise utilisation.
- To support the Division in the delivery of key performance targets
- Will support the General Manager with the clinical management of the Division.
The post holder will also require the knowledge, skill, and attention to detail to continue to deliver real improvements in quality; working closely with the divisional team to ensure patient care is delivered safely across the out patient departments.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current NMC registration
- Educated at degree level
- Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical training and CPD
- Change management or service improvement experience/qualification
- Leadership qualification
Desirable criteria
- Master’s level studies or equivalent
- Post basic qualification in leadership and/or management
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience of working in a senior nursing role
- Evidence of teaching and development in clinical practice
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
- Evidence of up-to-date knowledge for Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist / Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Experience

- Experience of managing a ward or clinical area
- Experience of implementing change in clinical practice or service delivery to improve the quality of patient care including care pathways, protocols and audit
