Band 3 Pharmacy Production Assistant  - Pharmacy Aseptic Services

37.5 Hours - Hours will be between  08:00 and 18:00 (Monday to Friday) and weekend cover will be on a rota basis 

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the team of assistants within our Aseptic Services Unit within our brand new facility here at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool. The post holders must have the ability to supervise, develop support services and implement change along with being responsible for the delivery of support activities to the aseptic service.

The successful applicants will carry out senior duties in the Chemotherapy Unit assisting with providing an expanding cytotoxic reconstitution service.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Assistant with an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Practice (achieved or will work towards in post) and previous experience in Pharmacy Aseptic Services.

The post holders will be responsible for ensuring the  raw materials are sent into the production units 

Order, receive, rota and maintain all stocks within the department.

Compile documentation for quality control and quality assurance to adhere to licensing requirements of the department and within the trust.

Participate in volume checking of colleagues within the sterile chemotherapy unit.

Participate in parenteral chemotherapy dispensing as appropriate within the sterile chemotherapy unit.  

Participate in and co-ordinate the storage of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments at Hubs.

You will be a good team player, possess good people and organisational skills, be able to work alone as well as in a team, and able to work under pressure in this environment.

The successful candidate with be based in the Aseptic Department, rotating through aseptic dispensing of chemotherapy, assembly and checking of raw materials and acting as Internal Checker for other dispensers when appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Must have NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Practice with or able to achieve additional NVQ unit 9 (dispensing module) / Unit 8 NVQ Level 2 Diploma (dispensing module).

Knowledge
