Job overview
A rare opportunity to join our Acute Physiotherapy Service at the Walton Centre as a Senior Physiotherapist in Acute Neurology. We are a team of Physiotherapists, Clinical Support Workers and a degree apprentice providing care across the acute inpatient wards covering neurology and neurosurgery.
As a senior specialist within the service, you will be responsible for providing high quality, safe and effective care across the inpatient service working closely with other physiotherapy teams and colleagues across the Trust. You will support the Acute Team Lead Physiotherapist in providing day to day support and management of the team including clinical support and supervision.
You will be part of the wider Therapy Service at the Walton Centre and will be supported by the Head of Therapies, Clinical Leads and your peers to integrate into your new role. You will be supported to access additional education and training as required.

Main duties of the job
Establish and manage a complex clinical caseload as appropriate to the service
To influence, lead and manage the acute physiotherapy service ensuring high level clinical intervention and evidenced based care.
To work collaboratively with other clinicians, including medical and nursing staff to influence service development and ensure quality of care is delivered
To provide clinical education and training to other health care professionals
Influence research, innovation and professional development for self and others.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Health & Care Professions Council Registration
- Evidence of attendance at relevant post-graduate courses and ongoing maintenance of up to date professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Masters level qualification or equivalent in relevant specialism
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of extensive post-registration clinical experience at a senior level
- Evidence of attendance at relevant post graduate courses and ongoing maintenance of up to date professional development
- Extensive experience of assessment and treatment of Acute Neurological and Neurosurgical conditions
- Experience in staff and performance and management
- Able to plan and carry out a complex and demanding workload
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of delivering on key quality performance indicators

- To have highly developed interpersonal skills
