Job overview

We need a suitably experienced, senior physiotherapist who has a strong interest in Complex Rehabilitation and prior leadership experience to join the multidisciplinary team within our Complex Rehabilitation Service, part of the Cheshire and Merseyside’s Rehabilitation Network. We host The Hyper Acute Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit which is a 10 bedded Level 1a unit and the Complex Rehabilitation Unit which is a 30 bed Level 1b and 2 unit.

You will provide highly specialist Physiotherapy interventions to patients with a range of complex conditions and will be responsible for supervision and training of other Physiotherapy staff and students.

You will have excellent leadership skills, proven within previous roles and be an effective team player.  You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplined leadership team within Complex Rehabilitation. You should also have an interest in audit and research with a  strong commitment to, both yours and others CPD. Your clinical and professional development will be supported by a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist through regular appraisals and training.

Main duties of the job

  • Establish and manage a complex clinical caseload as appropriate to the service
  • To influence, lead and manage the complex rehabilitation physiotherapy service ensuring high level clinical intervention and evidenced based care.
  • To work collaboratively within the complex rehabilitation leadership team  including medical, nursing staff and other therapies to influence service development and ensure quality of care is delivered
  • To provide clinical education and training to other health care professionals
  • Influence research, innovation and professional development for self and others

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Registered member of Charted Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of attendance at relevant post graduate courses and ongoing maintenance of up to date professional development.
Desirable criteria
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent in relevant specialism.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of extensive post – registration clinical experience in complex rehabilitation at a senior level.
  • Evidence of attendance at relevant post graduate courses and ongoing maintenance of up to date professional development.
  • Able to plan, deliver and manage a highly complex and demanding workload.
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of delivering on key quality performance indicators.
