We currently have a great new opportunity for Access Team Leader to join our team at Mersey West Lancashire Trust, based across Ormskirk and Southport sites.
We are looking for a result-driven, self-motivated Team leader for the Access Team. As Access Team Leader you will have great communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to work to targets.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum. This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met.
You will supervise the day-to-day activities of the team, build quality relationships, and provide a positive patient experience in line with expectation.

Acute Care
Providing emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.
Primary Care
Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.
Community Services
Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level for English and Maths or equivalent experience
 - NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (plus 2 years’ experience) or equivalent knowledge through formal training or experience

- Hold qualifications in Team Leading or equivalent experience
 
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in an Admissions environment (similar role) or equivalent knowledge (2 years)
 - Excellent IT skills with knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office
 - Good general knowledge

- Knowledge of hospital IT systems
 - Previous line management experience
 - Good understanding of Trust internal policies as appropriate
