Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant  to join our Administrative Team 

The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to the St Helens and Knowsley Leadership Team.

Successful applicants will be able to organise their own workload and co-ordinate workload activities within the team. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills.

There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative.

Some travel between sites is also required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision.  They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and use own initiative to carry out duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation, thus enabling the leadership team to utilise their time in an efficient and effective manner. 

As an experienced Personal Assistant/Secretary, you will be managing diaries of the leadership team.  You will be required to arrange internal and external meetings.

Taking comprehensive minutes is an integral part of the role, you must be competent in taking live minutes in meetings, preparing for your meetings in advance, chase up outstanding actions, produce reports etc.

It is essential that confidentiality be maintained at all times.  The post holder must adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RSA III (or equivalent) Word Processing.
  • Proven competence in various IT packages. Audio typing skills.
Desirable criteria
  • RSA (or equivalent) Shorthand qualification at approx. 80wpm.
  • ECDL qualification.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working at a similar level with proven admin/secretarial skills
