Job overview
The Sefton Place Planned Therapy Service is delivered between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of rehabilitation to adults (predominantly older people) primarily within the North Sefton area, providing a programme of therapeutic activities and interventions under the direction and supervision of a qualified therapist. The post holder will be required to actively work as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The Post Holder will be expected to work in an innovative way to support the smooth running of the Service and may be required to offer individual /group activities alongside other therapy staff and under the indirect and direct supervision of a qualified therapist. The Post Holder will also support senior staff and the service with a range of other tasks, including the delivering and setting up of equipment when required. We are committed to staff development and you will have a named supervisor, the support of physiotherapists and occupational therapists as well as the opportunity to attend courses and training. There are a number of apprenticeship opportunities within the organisation each year for Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy which may interest those who wish to progress their career in this way.
Main duties of the job

To actively engage service users in therapeutic activities to promote independence and well-being within a variety of community environments.
3.
The post holder will be required to facilitate 1:1 and group sessions where or when appropriate.
4.
Support service users to attend and participate in sessions that promote rehabilitation
5.
To provide a written update and overview of service users participation, engagement level and skills following sessions.
6.
To form professional relationships with service users, and communicate with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture.
7.
To maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

CLINICAL

QUALITY
1.
Under the supervision of a registered Therapist the post holder will facilitate and participate in planned group work and individual activities set within service user’s treatment plans.
2.
To give feedback to the team regarding the service user’s performance / progress in areas of self-management, productivity and leisure including risk factors.
3.
To participate, as appropriate, clinical and professional meetings held within the service.
4.
To participate in clinical governance and quality improvement projects allocated by the Senior Clinical Lead Therapists.
5.
To participate in team audit, evaluation activities and service user feedback questionnaires.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 2, with an aim to complete NVQ Level 3 at a later date
Desirable criteria
- Other qualifications linked to role, ie, gym instructor qualification

- Experience of working in the NHS, community care, or rehabilitation environment
- Basic awareness of the impact of ageing and common conditions on functional ability
