Job overview

The post will include the responsibility for staff providing a Materials Management service to customers across Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.

The post will not receive constant, direct supervision and will require the post holder to exercise initiative in the provision of service to customers with only occasional supervision and guidance.

Main duties of the job

Materials Management – Ordering clinical and non-clinical goods for each ward / department within the trust via NHS Supply Chain Online, eProcurement or handheld computer device, ensuring that stock levels are maintained to agreed levels with senior ward/department staff, to receive stock, unpack and replenish stores or storerooms in relevant wards and clinical departments whilst ensuring that stock rotation is carried out continuously

Essential criteria
  • Good level of general education (5 GCSE ‘O’ Levels Grade C or above
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Microsoft Office
  • ECDL
  • CIPS Foundation Level or willing to work towards.

Knowledge
