We are currently looking for a motivated enthusiastic nurse to join our Respiratory Nursing Team at Southport and Ormskirk Trust. The post holder will work closely with the other members of the multi-disciplinary respiratory team, within the hospital. You will offer support to the respiratory ward with the management/care of non-invasive ventilation NIV on ward 14b which is a 30 bedded acute respiratory ward.
The role of the respiratory nurse will be to review inpatients with exacerbations of respiratory disease to ensure they receive a high standard of care which will include the COPD discharge bundle . The post holder will work with asthmatic patients to assist them with the manage of the condition and impact upon readmission to the hospital. You will also review patients in outpatients clinics supported by the respiratory consultants and be involved in teaching, audit and service development.
We are looking for an experienced nurse, who has a proven knowledge and experience in managing Respiratory patients , and is motivated to develop their knowledge and skills further. The successful applicant will need to be a good communicator and be able to work independently, with the support of the team when needed.
