To co-ordinate the Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) service including management of new referrals and follow up appointments ensuring the capture of data for audit and Patient Related Outcome Measurements (PROM’s)
Responsible for ensuring optimum use of clinic and injection lists, escalating when capacity is required.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for overseeing the AMD appointment system scheduling new and follow up assessment and treatment appointments, managing the case load and ensuring patients are informed of their appointment and other relevant information.
- Be the point of contact for patients, consultants, nursing staff and managerial staff in regard to the AMD service
- Identify capacity and demand issues and ensure clinical and managerial colleagues are aware and action.
- Request any changes as required for letters, clinic, theatres and consultants via Pas Admin
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the treatment rooms / theatre availability for injections
- Ensure the treatment plan on Medisight coincides with the information the AMD co-ordinator has received and highlight any conflicting information to the clinicians
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the hospital pharmacy over pharmaceutical supplies.
- Undertake project planning / audits to ensure AMD service needs and targets are met.
- To monitor, collect, collate, evaluate and report progress of AMD service.
