Job overview
Public Health Nurse in St Helens supporting the delivery of a public health offer to children and young people and delivering the Healthy Child Programme core offer.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the 0-19 service to deliver the public health offer in St Helens.
Managing a safeguarding caseload, including completing health assessments, contributing to multiagency meetings and completing reports.

The St Helens 0-19 service is a friendly supportive team offering staff the opportunity to work flexibly if needed.
We work with the trust values of compassion openness and Trust ensuring that we demonstrate these values to children and families in St Helens and to each other.
We have daily safety huddles to support staff at the beginning of each day and monthly team meetings.
Supervision is available to all staff both planned and reactive.
We work closely with our specialist Safeguarding nurses to ensure staff feel supported and have access to appropriate training and induction
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will work as part of the 0-19 service. The post is a 12 month fixed term contract delivering public health offer across St Helens.
The role also includes providing leadership to junior colleagues and new starters, organising/ work planning and delegation and chairing and attending meetings.

Essential criteria
- RN (Adult or Child/RSCN) or RM
Desirable criteria

Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working within the 0-19 Team and evidence of managing a school nursing caseload
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Ability to use email, internet and word processing software.
Desirable criteria
- Delivering public health sessions in schools
Skills and Attributes

- Good verbal and non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
