Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Support worker to join the successful Infant Feeding Team, within the Women and Children’s Division. 

The ideal candidate should ideally have infant feeding experience within a maternity setting, and an inherent interest in supporting infant feeding. The candidate should have a basic general education and currently hold NVQ Level 2 Qualification in Health Care or equivalent.   The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral and be committed to undertake relevant qualifications.

An education programme and mandatory training will be available for the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

As an Infant Feeding Clinical Support Worker you would be working primarily on the Maternity Ward in a clinical setting.

Working alongside the Midwifery Team, you will be expected to provide evidence based knowledge and information for all aspects of infant feeding and act as a resource and support for mothers and midwifery staff in the initiation, establishment and development (maintenance) of breast feeding, and artificial feeding.
