Job overview

Clatterbridge Diagnostics Centre have an exciting opportunity  clinic clerks to join our team. 

The role will work at Clatterbridge Diagnostics Centre based on the Clatterbridge Hospital site.  Hours will vary between 7.30 - 6pm on a rota basis.

Candidates will be required to carry out reception duties and be the first point of contact for patients arriving at the Diagnostics Centre so will be required to have previous customer service experience.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include;

  • Schedule appointments for all Diagnostics
  • Reception and registration of patients and issuing patient preparations as appropriate
  • Completion of all required documentation and computer records
  • Taking telephone calls and following up enquiries from patients, clinics, wards, and General Practitioners
  • Contacting patients via telephone to make and confirm appointments
  • Sending out correspondence and dealing with all relevant queries from patients, relatives, hospital staff and General Practitioners
  • Drawing difficulties to the attention of the manager and/or clinical staff and making suggestions for improvements
  • Requirement to work in any of the clerical areas within the Diagnostic Centre’s, on either a temporary or permanent basis
  • Assisting other members of clerical staff to cover sickness, annual leave, etc.

  • Basic working knowledge of IT
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of admin processess

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experience of working in an administrative role
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience in an NHS acute hospital
  • Previous experience of the Cerner Millennium information system
