Job overview
The role of the 8a Service Manager (Health Protection ), is a key member of the CTMUHB Health Protection Operational Team, within the Primary and Community Care Group.
It also has a key role working with the health Protection team of Public Health as part of the wider Health Protection Service under the Director of Public Health.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead a team to take forward the development of initiatives to deliver the NIF (National Immunisation Framework), as well the operational delivery of key health protection initiatives, including a range of vaccinations and immunisations.
You will need to be a confident communicator with colleagues and stakeholders alike as the post will require you to work with other teams across the University Health Board as well as externally with Local Authority and Primary Care contractors to be able to deliver the agenda.
You will be a key member of the Health Protection Operational Team and will be expected to work closely with the senior management team, to develop and implement the:
· CTM UHB Health Protection Strategy,
· the National Immunisation Framework
· the Integrated Medium Term Plan and
· operational strategies,
ensuring that systems and processes are in place to comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements, as well as achieving the targets set out in these strategies and plans. .
You will contribute with the senior management team to ensure operational plans and performance are closely managed, providing solutions to resolve difficult operational issues.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This is a new role in a newly established service to develop health protection services across the University Health Board footprint. The post holder will lead a team to take forward the development of initiatives to deliver the NIF (National Immunisation Framework), as well the operational delivery of key health protection initiatives, including a range of vaccinations and immunisations.
This provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced, motivated and passionate manager to help us shape this new service.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent operational knowledge and experience. Whilst working in a health protection environment is desirable, it is not essential. What is essential is to have the passion and skills to take forward this important agenda and come and make a difference to our team and provide inspirational leadership, alongside the day to day-management. The service manager will have experience of managing teams, with the ability to maintain the supportive team environment we have created and provide opportunities for continued learning and development.

- Educated to Master’s Level or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in administration/ management or relevant subject matter
