Job overview
The post holder will work in a Prison environment that provides healthcare services for offenders, whom are either on remand, awaiting court dates, or have been sentenced. This involves being the subject of searching and security procedures, responsibility for keys and working is restrictive, locked environment.
They will be based within HMP & YOI Parc, additional security measures will be required in line with Ministry of Justice policies, and they will provide a comprehensive administrative service for the Health and Wellbeing Team. This will support the co-ordination, provision and delivery of an effective high quality health & wellbeing service to the prisoners and children at HMP & YOI Parc.
The post holder will need to be alert to emergency security procedures.
Main duties of the job
· To co-ordinate clinics within clinical system (SystemOne) to include creation and population of clinics where appropriate in line with local policies in relation to timescales.
· To support patient attendance at clinics, by ensuring that all appointments are known to patients, via utilisation of the CMS IT system.
· Ensure all prisoner requests via CMS are actioned.
· Review and action all tasks on SystemOne.
· Support the management of complaints in line with the All Wales NHS Complaints Procedure.
· Liaise with administrative staff based at the Health Board and other organisations as required.
· Organise clinic letters to a set standard and prepare letters for internal and external posting from departmental staff.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
