Job overview

We are looking to recruit an NMC Registrant into the role of Nurse Director for our Primary Care & Community Care Group on a fixed term or secondment for 6 months to cover maternity leave.   The portfolio covers a diverse range of Primary Care & Community Services.

You will possess the necessary energy and credibility to lead, support and develop our professional staff delivering high quality care for our patients.  You will be accountable for all aspects of the care group nursing services including the workforce’s delivery of quality activity and financial performance through culture, strategy, people and resource management.

The post holder will also work alongside the Service Director and Medical Director to ensure the delivery of a safe and responsive service which meets the needs of our patients but also shape, lead and implement the transformation of services.   THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 6 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER

 

Main duties of the job

§      As part of the Care Group’s senior leadership team will provide high quality and safe population health wellness and care delivery services, within budget and in alignment with national and local targets through excellent workforce planning and management. Set and oversee the nursing budgets

§   Promote workforce redesign maximising multi-disciplinary skill mixing for the ongoing sustainability of services

§   Dive up quality by developing and managing systems and policies for robust locality clinical group governance, which links closely to UHB wide governance ensuring there is strong and supporting oversight of all aspects of Care Group business

§   Transform and keep services sustainable by participation in annual and medium term strategic, operating planning and the performance management of those plans

§   Ensuring all nursing staff are supported through development and meaningful appraisal

§   Support nursing colleagues in the proactive adoption and monitoring of professional standards and audit recommendations

§   Enable excellence in education, staff development and research

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent qualification, knowledge and/or experience supplemented by highly specialist qualification to doctoral level equivalency.

Registration

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Adult with current NMC registration.

Welsh language requirements

Desirable criteria
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above

Experience

  • Significant senior operational management experience across healthcare sectors.
