Job overview

An opportunity has arisen  for a successful candidate to join our  Glanrhyd & Community Facilities  Department.

The post is Relief Caretaker working 12.5 hours per week over 5 days Monday to Friday.  Hours and days will  vary  depending on location needing cover. 

Candidates must be flexible and able to travel to all Glanrhyd & Community sites, including Maesteg, Ogmore vale, Porthcawl & Cornelly

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining high cleaning standards in community clinics and hospitals across the Health Board in line with National Standards of Cleanliness for NHS Wales and support Infection prevention and control.

Main duties of the job

To undertake all cleaning and caretaking duties in accordance with the cleaning schedule for the building. 

  • To undertake cleaning duties in the Community clinics as indicated on the cleaning schedule.
  • To complete daily and weekly cleaning of all areas in accordance with departmental schedules and specification, using appropriate equipment, chemicals and work methods. Tasks to include damp dusting, vacuuming, floor maintenance, high dusting, cleaning sanitary areas, spot cleaning internal glass as required, always adhering to the safe systems of work. This could involve cleaning in unpleasant areas i.e. public toilets.
  • To co-ordinate and adhere to the cleaning programme within the building.

  • Experience of undertaking cleaning duties, preferably in a hospital/clinic environment
