Job overview

This post offers an opportunity for an individual with administrative experience to join the Medical Records Department in the Princess of Wales Hospital. 

The successful candidates will be part of the Outpatient Booking Team and will be responsible for providing a comprehensive Outpatient service for Outpatient Clinics, following appropriate systems, procedures, policies and processes requiring to book appointments adhering to RTT guidelines.  A comprehensive reception service is also required.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Appoint patients using the appropriate Patient Administration System (PAS). 
  • Manage Outpatient Waiting Lists adhering to RTT guidelines.
  • Answer telephone queries and, if unable to resolve the issue, pass on information to the relevant professionals in a timely manner.
  • Be expected to deal sympathetically and compassionately with patients.
  • Provide an Outpatient Reception Service.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge, training & experience
  • Understanding of office procedures gained through previous experience, training and knowledge

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous office experience working in a busy office environment
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience as Receptionist/Clerical Officer. Experience of Waiting List Management.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems acquired through NVQ Level 3 study, or experience
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.
