Job overview

The Bridgend Mental Health Outpatients department are looking for a friendly and confident individual to join their team as a clinic coordinator. 

This is a busy role which requires someone who is resilient and motivated. 

Main duties of the job

The Clinic Co-ordinator will reception and co-ordinate out-patient clinics, new patient referrals, follow up appointments and contribute to the maintenance of waiting lists for Clinical Teams within Mental Health Services. 

The role will also include the filing of results and correspondence as per Mental Health Directorate procedures, the retrieving and returning case notes to the main filing library, prepping of case notes for outpatient clinic and in conjunction with colleagues maintain the records library in accordance with local policy and retention and destruction schedules.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 3 GCSE’s or equivalent
  • IT qualification or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of WPAS and IT systems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous all-round experience. Experience in data entry
  • Experience in managing a filing system
Desirable criteria
  • Has previously worked in the NHS environment

Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
