Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg Paediatric Psychology Services.
The role is part time (15 hrs per week)
The Administrative Assistant will provide effective administrative service to support the efficient running of the Paediatric Psychology service. As well as administrative tasks, the post holder will collect and input statistical information on service activity in line with both local and national requirements.
The Administrative Assistant will be expected to portray a positive image and be able to liaise in a professional manner with clients, colleagues and visitors to the Service.
The post holder will be expected to plan and prioritise own work load escalating any issues to the Clinical Lead.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing an efficient and high standard of Administration support to the Paediatric Psychology Service.
The post holder will handle confidential and sometimes contentious and sensitive information and will therefore be relied upon to observe and comply with specific and implied confidentiality rules and policies.
The post holder is expected to work flexibly to support the service.

Essential criteria
- RSA/OCR Stage III or equivalent in word processing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel packages.
- ECDL or equivalent experience.
- Good standard of education.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an office environment.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS experience.
- Previous Medical Secretary experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
Desirable criteria
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
