Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration
- MRC Psych or equivalent
- S.12(2) Approval
- Approved Clinician approval
Desirable criteria
- Additional relevant postgraduate qualification
- Relevant clinical qualification
- Welsh Approved Clinician approval
Experience
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive training and experience in Psychiatry
- Higher training experience in general adult psychiatry
Desirable criteria
- Experience of acting as Responsible Clinician
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal)
- Competence in current assessment and treatment
- Competence in risk assessment and management
- Understanding of relevant clinical, legal and policy issues
Desirable criteria
- Computing skills
Audit & Research
Essential criteria
- Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
- Evidence of having undertaken audit relevant to speciality
- Proven capability to initiate and undertake original work

- Evidence of service wide audit with significant and lasting impact on practice

Management

- Management and administrative experience
