Job overview
The successful candidate will have a post on ward 14, Coity clinic. The candidate will work 12 hour shifts both days and nights. Ward 14 is a 16 bed, mixed gender admissions and treatment ward for individuals aged 18-65 for periods of assessment and treatment of mental health conditions within the Bridgend locality. The ward also hosts the Health boards designated Emergency admission bed for child and adlescent services where patients 16 years and older can be admitted for a crisis period.
The role will involve patient assessment, care planning, discharge planning, and liaison with multidisciplinary services for accurate and timely discharge planning. There will be admissions that are fast paced with a fast patient turn around through regular multidisciplinary review. There will also be longer admissions for longer term treatment with more specific care planning patient needs that require further assessment and clear treatment plans. Longer admission usually occurs for patients whose recovery takes longer with a historical diagnosis and generally known to services and care co-ordinated by community services
