Job overview
Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB are looking for an enthusiastic and committed SCPHN Band 6 School Nurse to promote the health and well being of school aged children.
As CTM covers a wide geographical area there is an expectation the post holder will be transient and may be asked to move if capacity and needs of the service dictates.
The successful candidate should be committed to team working and possess excellent interpersonal skills and will form an integral part of a skill mixed team.
We are looking for a qualified SCPHN School Nurse with strong skills in clinical leadership and in depth knowledge of the public health agenda.
The School Nursing team works with Children, young people and families to identify relevant health needs and ensure these are addressed in line with the Welsh Government Framework for School Nursing.
The post holder will work to assess the health needs of individual children and the school population as a whole. They will proactively address factors affecting health to ensure that children and young people achieve the best possible outcomes and will work with vulnerable children and families to reduce the risks of social exclusion and health inequalities.

- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nursing qualification

- Work in partnership with members of the primary health care team and voluntary and statutory organisations.
- Participate in the delivery of evidence based care.
- Ensuring consistency in the quality of care provided.
- To increase the knowledge and skills of parents enabling them to identify and empowering them to appropriately meet the needs of their children and young people
