The successful candidate will work autonomously to carry out nursing interventions within the remit of their training and skills for example venepuncture, venesection, cannulation, wound dressings, assembly of medical and surgical equipment and preparations, and administration of specialised prescribed medications and injections.

The ability to be able to perform venepuncture and cannulation would be an advantage as a desirable but not an essential skill as training could be provided.

We have fantastic opportunities for you to develop your clinical skills and knowledge to undertake comprehensive investigations, blood product transfusion and drug treatments, such as venepuncture, cannulation, venesection, blood and platelet transfusions, immunoglobulins, biologics, endocrine investigations and iron infusions whilst adhering to the Health Board training policies, procedures and guidelines, within the remit of one's own competency level.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
