Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Adult General Registered Nurse with significant Band 7 experience to apply for the exciting role of Senior Nurse for Specialist Services including Diabetes, Respiratory,Aural care,Bladder and Bowel,Wound clinic, Lymphedema, Tissue Viability.

The applicant must be confident and competent in a wide range of skills and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional learning and development. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel between sites .  Experience working within a community setting and experience/ qualification or demonstration of management experience within a specialist service would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

There will be multiple demands in this exciting new role due to the imminent need for a new service design for many of the services within the portfolio. This includes leading on change management and quality improvement action plans for each of the services under this portfolio.

Leadership within this role will be of paramount importance therefore the individual must have excellent leadership and communication skills in order to support team leaders with change management/ action plans in order to give assurance on the safe, effective and efficient care delivery within the Services.

Leadership and change management

Quality Improvement

Financial accountability for Specialist Service teams establishments and spend.

Governance of services including training, Datix , concerns , PADR 

Role model for teams

Work closely with Operational Management and Lead Nurse to implement and lead on new service developments and quality improvement works.

 

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant relevant clinical experience at Band 7 or equivalent or above.
  • Demonstrate experience in effective resource management skills. Working in a wide range of clinical areas.
  • Experience implementing innovation and change management in clinical practice.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working within health and social service systems, both at local and strategic levels
  • Experience at band 7 level in a community setting

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered professional with current NMC registration
  • Master’s Level or possess skills, knowledge and/or training and experience to its equivalency

  • SPQ qualification community or equivalent
